Desert Geckos

My name is Ryan and I have been interested in Desert Geckos since I was about 4 years old. My uncle was the person who first got me interested in reptiles. He was always giving us different animals to care for. He also went to college to study reptiles. I probably have over 100 books on reptiles that I have read. While this site will be primarily about Desert Geckos, I will also be including information about other types of reptiles as well.

So just a little background about me and my experience with reptiles. I am now a teenager living in Arizona. I have lived here for close to 7 years. During that time I have caught and cared for wild Western Banded Geckos, and anything else my parents will let me bring home! I want to learn a much as I can about reptiles and hope to work in the reptile area of a major zoo.

Reptile Preservation

I have had a lot of role models through these past 10 years. Steve Irwin, 'The Crocodile Hunter' was probably the most influential people to the reptile world. I was sad to hear of his passing. I really admired his work and the care and preservation of the animals he caught. Click the link above to see how you can how carry on his dream of wildlife preservation.
